Ready to Rock was born through a graffiti crew called L.S.P that was started in the Bronx around 1990/91. Originally, L.S.P. started with 3 young guys around the age of 12 or 13. These first three guys called themselves Triple AM, which came from their names. Triple A meant Alex (Sease), Alfred (Nerve), and Andy (Duce); additionally the M stood for Marc (Smerk). Some of the first tags they took on walls came from an old brown spray can they found in one of their houses under the sink. Living in NY automatically provided an environment that would eventually get them well involved in the Graff game. Eventually the group got a little bigger and the name evolved into the Tan Clan. For a while, it was the name they went by until one of them heard of a group coming up called Wu-Tang Clan. Knowing that this group would eventually blow up, The Tan Clan would look as if they were imitating this group so the name changed to J.B.L (Just Born Lucky). With many crews in the city, they eventually found out about another crew that went by the same three letters JBL. In search of finding an original name, the crew would remain nameless for a while until something naturally fell into place. In the summer of 1992, while most of the crew was on vacation with their families, Smerk and one of the younger guys named Mason AKA Warn who was starting to get involved with the crew came up with the name L.S.P. which originally stood for Local Spray Painters. They still had to run it by the crew to get a stamp of approval, but in the mean time, they began representing it everywhere they left their signature. Upon the arrival of the rest of the crew, the name was chosen. In 1992 Smerk and Nerve both became members of the Universal Zulu Nation in the Bronx where they would eventually meet Crazy Legs. Crazy Legs gave both of them the opportunity to learn how to BBoy. As the crew got better they received more attention, yet the name Ready to Rock had not been formed yet. It was in 1994 when Smerk got down with Rock Steady Crew and met a talented graffiti writer named Bom 5. Bom 5 recognized the potential this crew had so he found places for them to practice and get more of their stuff together; additionally, this would be the time that he introduced Cleeve to Smerk, Nerve, Sease, and Duce. They automatically clicked and became good friends based off the dancing and graffiti background. Soon after this unity, Bom 5 offered the group an opportunity to dance in a show at a place called the Vortex in Harlem. The group decided this was a chance to get their props, so they did the show, and history was made. Bom 5 developed a good friendship with the crew and offered the name Ready to Rock to them, the name of a crew he was down with when he was breaking at a younger age. The group accepted it, so Ready To Rock became the new name of the BBoy chapter in L.S.P... To be continued....
